Tottenham Hotspur have identified Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and Manchester City attackers Savinho and Omar Marmoush as key targets as they look to strengthen their forward line.
Spurs have already made progress in their attempts to sign Savinho and Marmoush, while they are expected to return with an improved offer for Gakpo this week.
However, Tottenham are also exploring options outside the Premier League, with AS Monaco striker Folarin Balogun remaining on their radar. The north London side were previously linked with the United States international, who has reportedly given his approval to a potential move.
Despite being close to completing deals for Savinho and Marmoush, Tottenham have not abandoned their interest in Balogun. The latest report from L’Equipe suggests Monaco are preparing for the striker’s possible departure before the transfer window closes.
Balogun joined Monaco from Arsenal in August 2023 and has since made a strong impact, registering 31 goals and 19 assists in 91 appearances. Last season alone, he contributed 19 goals and five assists.
The striker has missed Monaco’s opening two matches this season due to a minor fitness issue and has been training individually. The French club reportedly believes his absence is partly precautionary as they prepare for a potential late-window sale.
Monaco have already signed Matthis Abline for around €30 million as a possible replacement, while Balogun’s departure could provide the club with additional funds to strengthen the squad.
Tottenham are among several clubs showing interest in the 24-year-old, with Barcelona and Aston Villa also understood to have made approaches.
It remains uncertain whether Spurs will step up their pursuit of Balogun, particularly if they complete the signing of Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush.
