Tottenham Hotspur look ready to sanction the sale of Pape Sarr as the transfer window edges toward its close, with reports suggesting the club would sanction a departure for the right offer.
The 23-year-old is said to be similarly open to a move, especially with signs mounting that he isn’t part of Roberto De Zerbi’s core plans going forward. Galatasaray have emerged as the most active suitor and are reportedly pushing hard to get a deal over the line before deadline day, though Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the situation could complicate things — a switch to Turkey would likely mean Sarr accepting a step down in competition level.
His standing at Tottenham has clearly slipped. Sarr made just 13 league starts last season and was left out of the squad entirely for the recent loss to Brentford, with the summer arrivals of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali only adding to the midfield logjam. Given how important regular football is at this stage of his career, a move away increasingly looks like his best route to consistent minutes — and Tottenham, having already spent heavily this window, may welcome the chance to cash in on a player outside the manager’s immediate plans.
Galatasaray do have a slightly longer window to get a deal done than Premier League rivals, though the race is still tight. Sarr built his reputation as a highly-rated prospect during his time at Metz, and Tottenham still value his potential — but limited game time under De Zerbi has pushed things toward an exit. Reports put Spurs’ asking price at a relatively modest £30 million, a figure that could make him an appealing pickup for clubs still shopping before the deadline.
The move would follow a busy summer of outgoings for Tottenham, including Luka Vuskovic, Cristian Romero and Djed Spence, and would add to their transfer funds — especially with Lucas Bergvall’s own future still unresolved. For Sarr, though, the fee is likely secondary to simply finding regular first-team football.
