Liverpool learn Yankuba Minteh asking price

Liverpool are pushing to strengthen their attacking options and have identified Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh as one of their targets.

The Reds have already tested Brighton’s resolve with two offers. Their initial bid was around £50 million, but Brighton rejected it. Liverpool then returned with an improved offer worth approximately £60 million, which was also turned down.

Brighton have made it clear that they want significantly more before considering Minteh’s departure. Recent reports have put their valuation at around £70 million, although some later reports claim the asking price could have risen as high as £80 million.

Minteh, who joined Brighton from Newcastle in 2024 after an impressive loan spell at Feyenoord, has established himself as a dangerous right-sided winger. Liverpool see him as a possible solution to their need for more attacking width.

There is also a concern surrounding the player’s fitness. Minteh suffered a leg injury during pre-season and has undergone surgery, with reports suggesting he could be sidelined for several weeks.

Liverpool’s interest in Minteh comes alongside their pursuit of Bradley Barcola from PSG. Barcola remains a major target, but PSG’s huge valuation has made negotiations difficult, prompting Liverpool to explore alternatives.

For now, the major stumbling block is Brighton’s valuation. Liverpool have already shown they are willing to spend heavily, but they have yet to decide whether Minteh is worth meeting Brighton’s demands. The latest reports suggest the Reds could consider another offer, while Brighton are standing firm on their price.

In short: Liverpool want Minteh, the player is reportedly open to the move, but Brighton are demanding a huge fee—and the gap between the clubs remains the biggest obstacle.
