Fabrizio Romano has provided an important update on a player’s future, and it could be excellent news for Liverpool. The Reds may still have a chance to make their move.
Liverpool have been searching for a new forward throughout the summer, but finding the right option has proved extremely difficult, particularly when it comes to replacing Mohamed Salah. The market for right-sided attackers has offered very few convincing solutions.
The Reds previously explored a move for Yan Diomande, but that pursuit ended unsuccessfully, with the Ivorian eventually joining Real Madrid.
However, Diomande’s arrival could potentially create an opportunity for another highly-rated talent: Endrick.
The Brazilian is regarded as a special prospect and has drawn comparisons to Roberto Firmino in terms of his profile. Yet his place in Real Madrid’s plans now looks increasingly uncertain following the arrivals of Diomande and Carlos Espi.
For Liverpool, Endrick would make plenty of sense. The versatile forward can operate from the right, play through the middle or feature on the wing, making him a potentially ideal addition to Arne Iraola’s attack.
The biggest obstacle has been uncertainty surrounding his future. Endrick could still fight his way back into Real Madrid’s first-team plans, and neither the player nor the Spanish giants appear ready to completely close the door on their relationship.
Liverpool’s concern has been that another club could take advantage of the situation. The Reds made an attempt this summer but were unable to convince Endrick to make the move, meaning a rival could potentially succeed where Liverpool failed.
For Liverpool to have a realistic chance of signing Endrick, the youngster may first need to accept that his long-term future lies away from Real Madrid. If he spends several more months struggling for regular opportunities, that decision could become much easier.
That is why Fabrizio Romano’s confirmation that Endrick is set to remain at Real Madrid until at least January could actually be positive news for Liverpool.
The longer Endrick goes without the regular first-team football he wants, the more likely it becomes that he could consider a fresh start.
And if that happens, Liverpool could be ready to pounce.
