Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly placed a significant valuation on one of their brightest prospects in the aftermath of their heavy defeat to Arsenal.
Spurs were second best from the outset on Sunday evening, with Arsenal powering to a commanding 4–1 win to move five points clear of Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League table.
Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyökeres both struck twice for the visitors, while Randal Kolo Muani managed a late consolation for the home side.
The loss leaves Tottenham hovering just four points above 18th-placed West Ham United, pulling them uncomfortably close to the relegation zone. Interim boss Igor Tudor now faces a demanding stretch of matches against Fulham, Crystal Palace and Liverpool.
Amid concerns over their poor run of form, reports indicate Spurs have set a £57 million price tag on highly regarded midfielder Lucas Bergvall. Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt claims the North London side would only consider offers in that region for the 20-year-old.
Tottenham secured Bergvall’s signature ahead of FC Barcelona in 2024 for around £8.5 million. Since arriving, he has featured 71 times and scored twice, drawing interest from several top-flight clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa.
Bergvall is not the only Spurs player attracting attention. Defenders Micky van de Ven and Luka Vuskovic are also being linked with possible departures.
According to Team Talk, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Van de Ven as they consider potential successors to Ibrahima Konaté, who could leave Anfield on a free transfer this summer if he does not agree fresh terms. The Merseyside club had previously tracked the Dutch centre-back before his switch to Spurs and may now revive their interest.
Meanwhile, Vuskovic — currently on loan at Hamburger SV — is said to be on the radar of European giants Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
