Tottenham Fans Deliver Verdict on Omar Marmoush After Newcastle Debut
Tottenham Hotspur suffered another setback as they were beaten 2-0 by Newcastle United, leaving Roberto De Zerbi’s side without a point from their opening two Premier League games.
Among Spurs’ summer arrivals, Omar Marmoush attracted plenty of attention on his debut. The Egyptian forward started as the central striker, with Mathys Tel and Pedro Porro operating on either side of him.
Despite Tottenham’s disappointing result, Marmoush impressed supporters with his movement, passing and ability to create chances. He regularly dropped into space, collected the ball and tried to make things happen in attack.
The 27-year-old finished with 37 touches, three shots, three chances created and three successful dribbles from four attempts, while completing all 17 of his passes.
Spurs fans were quick to praise his display, with some claiming he is already a major upgrade in the number-nine position. Others described him as a “one-man team”, a “baller” and “proper proper quality.”
Marmoush will now look to build on his promising debut when Tottenham travel to face Nottingham Forest next weekend.
