Igor Tudor clashed with a Sky Sports reporter during a tense post-match interview following Tottenham Hotspur F.C.’s draw against Liverpool F.C..

Mark Goldbridge found himself unexpectedly referenced on Sky Sports’ social media after a bizarre moment involving Guglielmo Vicario during Sunday’s clash between Liverpool F.C. and Tottenham Hotspur F.C..

There was no shortage of drama at Anfield, with Liverpool missing the opportunity to move into the Premier League top four.

One of the biggest talking points came from Jamie Carragher, who was on commentary for Sky Sports alongside Peter Drury. Carragher sparked debate with his blunt assessment of Vicario’s inability to stop Dominik Szoboszlai from scoring with a long-range free-kick from about 30 yards.

After suggesting Tottenham lacked a “goalkeeping specialist,” Carragher criticised the effort, saying the shot was close to the middle of the goal and should have been saved, calling the moment “awful” and “absolutely shocking” goalkeeping.

Another memorable incident occurred in the 68th minute when Vicario tried to keep a deflected shot in play. However, he ended up carrying the ball well over the line. Despite Curtis Jones pointing out that the ball had gone out, a corner was not awarded.

When the replay aired, Carragher initially believed Vicario had kept the ball in play before quickly realising the mistake and laughing it off, admitting the assistant referee probably should have spotted it.

Soon after, Sky Sports shared the clip on their official X account with the caption that Carragher was “doing his best Mark Goldbridge impression.”

The joke referenced a famous moment from Mark Goldbridge, who once argued during a FIFA stream that a ball had not fully crossed the line, insisting it wasn’t “totally over,” only for goal-line technology to prove moments later that it had.

Goldbridge — whose real name is Brent Di Cesare — is best known as the leading voice behind The United Stand, widely regarded as the largest independent fan channel dedicated to Manchester United F.C., boasting more than 2.2 million subscribers on YouTube. ⚽
