Ismaila Sarr’s Agent Furious After Liverpool Transfer Move Falls Through

Ismaila Sarr’s Agent Hits Out After Liverpool Transfer Falls Through

The agent of Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr has publicly expressed his frustration after Liverpool failed to complete a late move for the Senegal international before the summer transfer window closed.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool submitted an opening offer worth around £50 million for Sarr, but Crystal Palace rejected the proposal and ultimately decided to keep the 28-year-old at Selhurst Park.

Reports from France also claimed that Sarr had refused to train with Palace as he looked to push for a move to Anfield. However, the transfer never materialised, leaving the winger at the London club.

Sarr’s agent voices frustration

Sarr’s representative, Diomansy Kamara, has now reacted strongly to the situation. The former Fulham striker also represents Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, another player who was reportedly the subject of interest from Liverpool.

Kamara questioned the way African players are sometimes treated during transfer negotiations, insisting that players should have a greater say in decisions concerning their careers.

He argued that transfers should not simply come down to clubs negotiating fees and contracts, stressing that there are players with ambitions, careers and personal decisions behind every deal.

The agent called for African footballers to receive greater respect and for their wishes to be properly considered when clubs decide their futures.

Liverpool ultimately miss out on Sarr

From Liverpool’s perspective, missing out on Sarr may not prove as damaging as initially feared.

The Reds managed to retain Cody Gakpo, despite reports that Manchester City had been pushing to sign the Dutch forward. Liverpool therefore still have an established attacking option available to them.

For Sarr, however, the disappointment of missing out on a move to Anfield will now have to be put aside as he returns his full attention to Crystal Palace.

Liverpool will be hoping the Senegal winger does not make them regret failing to secure his signature when the Reds eventually face Palace at Selhurst Park.

The failed pursuit also adds another chapter to what has been a dramatic summer transfer window for Liverpool, with several attacking targets linked to the club but ultimately remaining elsewhere.
