MAJOR BOOST! Fabrizio Romano has hinted at very exciting news for Tottenham fans, revealing that Johan Lange and Vinai Venkatesham’s preferred coaching candidate is close to being finalised, with a “Here We Go” announcement now believed to be only a matter of time.

Igor Tudor’s brief and turbulent tenure at Tottenham Hotspur has officially come to an end after just six weeks in charge. Following his departure, the club is now working urgently to appoint a new manager ahead of their next Premier League match against Sunderland on April 12.

Tottenham are understood to be assessing managerial candidates from across Europe, with former Brighton & Hove Albion and Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi currently viewed as the leading contender. Former AS Monaco coach Adi Hütter has also been mentioned among potential options, while Sean Dyche is not in the running after reportedly removing himself from consideration.

The club is said to be prioritising a data-led recruitment strategy and appears determined to appoint an overseas manager capable of guiding the team away from the threat of relegation. In the interim, Bruno Saltor will take charge of training sessions for players who are not on international duty, as Tottenham aim to finalise a new appointment within the next few days.

Tudor’s exit, officially described as a mutual decision, follows a damaging defeat to Nottingham Forest that left Spurs dangerously close to the relegation zone. The Croatian coach failed to record a single Premier League win during his short spell, making his appointment widely viewed as an expensive mistake.

Initially, the club delayed making a decision after the passing of Tudor’s father, publicly expressing sympathy and support during that difficult time. However, with no fixtures scheduled until the upcoming clash with Sunderland, both sides have now agreed to go their separate ways.

In a formal statement, Tottenham confirmed Tudor’s immediate departure and announced that his coaching staff would also be leaving the club. The club thanked them for their efforts over the past six weeks and reiterated their support for Tudor and his family following their recent bereavement, while promising further updates on the search for a new head coach soon.

Tudor, 47, had been appointed after the dismissal of Thomas Frank, inheriting a squad already struggling in the league. His tenure began poorly with five straight defeats, although a draw against Liverpool and a Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid briefly offered hope.

Despite that European success, Tottenham were unable to progress to the quarter-finals, leaving Premier League survival as their primary objective.

Tudor’s departure means Spurs are now searching for their fourth manager in less than a year, having previously parted ways with Ange Postecoglou last summer despite his Europa League triumph.
