Reports: Will Wright trains with Liverpool’s senior squad and may feature in the lineup for the Crystal Palace clash.

18-year-old forward Will Wright trained with Liverpool’s senior squad ahead of their Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace.

Journalist Jack Lusby reports that Wright is now in contention for a place in the matchday squad after Hugo Ekitike suffered an injury setback.

Ekitike was forced off during Liverpool’s Champions League second-leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain, leaving the pitch visibly distressed. The injury has ruled him out of the upcoming FIFA 2026 World Cup, and he could be sidelined for as long as nine months.

In the meantime, Wright’s impressive performances at U21 level — with 4 goals and 5 assists in his last 10 appearances — may earn him a first-team opportunity as Liverpool look to cope with Ekitike’s absence.
