Liverpool FC Handed Boost as Mohamed Salah Set for Return Before Summer Exit

Liverpool hopeful Salah will return before summer exit after injury scare

Liverpool FC have eased concerns over Mohamed Salah’s fitness, confirming the forward is expected to play again before the end of the season despite his recent injury setback.

Salah was forced off during Liverpool’s 3–1 win against Crystal Palace last Saturday, initially raising fears that the Egyptian star may have already played his final game for the club ahead of his anticipated summer departure.

However, in an official update released Wednesday, Liverpool described the issue as a “minor muscle injury” and expressed confidence that the 33-year-old will return before the campaign concludes.

“Liverpool FC can confirm Mohamed Salah is expected to be available to play again before the end of this season,” the club said in a statement.

This contradicts earlier claims from Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan, who suggested Salah had suffered a hamstring tear—an injury that would likely have ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

Head coach Arne Slot had previously admitted uncertainty over the situation, acknowledging the limited number of fixtures left.

“We don’t know. That is the best answer I can give,” Slot said. “There might be a chance, but we simply don’t know… there are not a lot of games left.”

Liverpool currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, holding an eight-point advantage over Brighton & Hove Albion in sixth place, as they push to secure UEFA Champions League qualification.

Their remaining fixtures include away trips to Manchester United and Aston Villa, alongside home matches against Chelsea FC and Brentford FC.

While Salah is unlikely to feature in the upcoming clash at Old Trafford, the prospect of his return before the season ends offers both a competitive boost and the possibility of a proper farewell after nine successful years at Anfield.
