Roberto De Zerbi has called on his Tottenham players to remain level-headed after back-to-back Premier League wins, warning them not to lose sight of how challenging their situation was just weeks ago.
Spurs had endured a winless run throughout 2026 before finally overcoming Wolves, a result they built on with a 2–1 victory against Aston Villa F.C. to climb out of the relegation zone.
After the match, De Zerbi reaffirmed his confidence in the squad, stressing that his praise is sincere. He pointed out that he is privileged to work with a group rich in both talent and character, and said his job is to boost their belief and guide them through adversity, criticism, and a difficult league standing.
The Italian also underlined the importance of perspective, urging his players to remember their position before the Wolves win and use it as motivation going forward.
De Zerbi further reassured fans about Rodrigo Bentancur, explaining that the midfielder’s substitution was due to fatigue rather than injury.
