Liverpool have secured a deal to sign Colombian teenager Samuel Martinez from Atlético Nacional, with the 17-year-old attacking midfielder set to make the move to Anfield in 2027 upon turning 18.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the agreement, noting that Liverpool beat Borussia Dortmund to the youngster’s signature. The Reds are reported to be paying around $1 million for the prospect, who is expected to sign a five-year deal upon arrival.
Martinez has caught the eye at youth level for Colombia and is considered one of the most exciting teenage talents the country has produced in recent years. Liverpool’s well-established track record of nurturing young players is seen as a major draw, with the club’s development pathway offering the ideal platform for the midfielder to grow into senior football.
Should he hit the ground running in England, the deal has all the hallmarks of a long-term bargain for the Merseyside club.
Beyond youth recruitment, Liverpool are also expected to pursue more experienced signings this summer after a disappointing season, with immediate-impact additions equally high on the agenda heading into the next campaign.
