Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League fate will be settled on the final day of the season, with Everton making the trip to North London as Roberto De Zerbi desperately seeks to keep Spurs in the top flight.
While the survival battle plays out on the pitch, club officials are already plotting their summer rebuild. A new striker has emerged as a top priority, with Spurs’ current forward options having failed to provide the consistent goals needed throughout the campaign. Dominic Solanke has contributed only three league goals, his season repeatedly derailed by injury. Richarlison leads the scoring charts with 12 goals across all competitions, but questions persist over whether he can reliably shoulder the attacking burden over a full season. Randal Kolo Muani, meanwhile, has endured a deeply frustrating spell and is widely regarded as one of the club’s least successful recent acquisitions.
The need for a proven goalscorer is becoming undeniable — and Spurs have now turned their attention to a player with a familiar connection to the club.
Reports from Soccer News indicate that Tottenham are interested in re-signing former academy product Troy Parrott, less than two years after selling him to AZ Alkmaar for approximately £6.7 million. The 24-year-old is also attracting interest from Everton, Leeds United and AC Milan as the summer window approaches.
Parrott has had a remarkable season in the Eredivisie, netting 31 goals in 48 outings for AZ Alkmaar — a run of form that has placed him firmly on the radar of clubs across Europe. The Republic of Ireland international now appears ready to make a step up in his career.
It is also understood that Parrott would be open to returning to White Hart Lane this summer, irrespective of which division Spurs find themselves in. He first joined the club in 2017, working his way through the academy before making his senior debut under Jose Mourinho at just 17. Despite showing early promise, he made only four first-team appearances before a series of loan spells across the EFL.
Crucially, Tottenham retained a 20 percent sell-on clause when Parrott departed for AZ Alkmaar, which could give them a financial edge in any transfer negotiations and help secure a deal at a lower cost. The prospect of a reunion could be further accelerated if Spurs opt to move on Richarlison, who enters the final year of his contract this summer.
At this point, Tottenham appear to hold a slight edge in the race to bring Parrott back to North London ahead of their other suitors.
