Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling for the same transfer target, with Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara emerging as a priority for both clubs ahead of next season.
As per Italian outlet Calciomercato, the 26-year-old Brazilian has drawn serious interest following a standout campaign in Turkey, during which he racked up 11 goal contributions across all competitions and caught the eye in the UEFA Champions League.
Sara is no stranger to English football, having previously featured for Norwich City, and scouts at both Old Trafford and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium believe his familiarity with the Premier League’s physical demands gives him an edge over other potential recruits. Galatasaray are understood to be seeking a fee in the range of €35m–€40m (£30m–£34m) for the versatile playmaker, though United and Spurs could yet face competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle United, whose interest may push the price higher.
Why Both Clubs Want Him
For Ruben Amorim, Sara fits the mould of a technically gifted, goal-contributing central midfielder capable of adding a new dimension to United’s midfield. At Spurs, the need is equally pressing — the north Londoners have lacked a consistent creative force through the middle and are keen to address that this summer.
Now at the peak of his powers and with European pedigree to his name, Sara’s transfer saga is set to heat up as the window draws closer. Whether he ends up in Manchester or north London is yet to be determined, but his departure from Istanbul looks increasingly inevitable.
