Spurs Confident £60m Target Is Eager to Join — Romano

Tottenham Hotspur’s bid to land Savinho is gaining momentum, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that talks are progressing and the £60m-rated winger is believed to be open to the switch.

Lewis Family Promise Sweeping Changes at Spurs

Following back-to-back 17th-place Premier League finishes, the Lewis family addressed supporters in an open letter, vowing to overhaul the club this summer.

“Our ambition is to recapture the spirit of the club and bring back the excitement, the fearlessness and the bold football we have always felt defined us. That means football comes first. The Board and Executive team have laid out their plans to meet this ambition. This will require investment — in our teams, the academy, our backroom functions and more — and we are fully committed to this. We are not selling the club. We are all in. We are investing in it. You will see more of this in the coming months.

“We care deeply about Spurs. The rebuilding the club needs, and you deserve, has begun. The change required is deep. It will take time and commitment, but change is happening.”

Defensive reinforcements are already in the pipeline, with Spurs closing in on out-of-contract duo Andy Robertson from Liverpool and Marco Senesi from AFC Bournemouth ahead of the summer window.

Savinho has also emerged as a key attacking target. The Brazilian has been largely on the periphery at Manchester City during the 2025-26 campaign, and Romano has now confirmed talks are moving in a positive direction.

Tottenham Close In on Savinho Deal

Taking to X, Romano wrote: “Negotiations ongoing for Savinho to Tottenham as revealed two weeks ago… and progressing well. #THFC believe Savinho wants the move, talks continue as Man City could open doors to his exit in case of good proposal. Deal on.”

Despite limiting his game time, Pep Guardiola has spoken glowingly of the 22-year-old, saying following a 2-0 win over Leicester City in 2024-25: “I’m very happy with Savinho. An incredible ability and quality that he can prove.”

“I’m really, really pleased for him; for the game, the goal, the assist because playing on the left, you can make that cross… very happy.”

The 13-cap Brazil international has contributed seven goals and 16 assists across 84 City appearances, though he was notably absent from Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad.
