Luka Vušković, Tottenham Hotspur’s teenage defender, has established himself as one of the most coveted young centre-backs on the continent after a stellar Bundesliga campaign.
The Croatian starlet turned heads throughout the season, drawing admiring glances from a host of top European clubs. Yet despite the mounting speculation surrounding his future, Vušković has his eyes set firmly on international duty ahead of everything else.
His brother Mario, who plays for Hamburg, is currently serving a doping ban that expires in November. Vušković had previously expressed a wish to rejoin the German club on loan next season to reunite with his sibling, though those plans now appear to have stalled.

“I don’t know. At the moment, I’m a Tottenham player. Whatever happens, will happen,” he said.

The young centre-back is eager to keep his head clear ahead of the FIFA World Cup, mindful of how transfer noise has derailed players at previous tournaments. The report draws a parallel with compatriot Ivan Rakitić, whose high-profile switch from Sevilla to Barcelona overshadowed Croatia’s 2014 World Cup campaign.
Credible sources referenced by Sportske Novosti indicate that Vušković has explicitly told his agent and Tottenham to shelve all negotiations until the tournament wraps up, ensuring his sole focus remains on representing his country.
