Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa has indicated he may be forced to consider leaving Anfield if he continues to struggle for regular game time.
The Italy international appears unsettled due to limited first-team opportunities and has even suggested that teammate Curtis Jones could also benefit from a move away. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chiesa opened up about his future and praised Jones, hinting that the midfielder could thrive at Inter Milan while also acknowledging that life in Italy may suit him better.
“I want to play regularly. If I don’t find consistency in the Premier League, I’ll have to look elsewhere,” Chiesa said. “My first year at Liverpool, I barely played… I will join the pre-season tour in the USA, then I’ll speak with the club and the new coach Iraola and we’ll see.”
Chiesa also revealed a conversation with Jones about a potential move abroad:
“Jones asked me what life in Italy is like. I told him it’s amazing, and the weather is much better than in Liverpool. Curtis is technically very strong, Inter would be right to consider him.”
It remains to be seen how the situation develops, but both players could be facing uncertain futures at Liverpool this summer. With new manager Andoni Iraola expected to reshape the squad, neither Chiesa nor Jones are guaranteed regular roles going forward, and they may need to impress during pre-season if they are not moved on beforehand.
