With six new arrivals already through the door — Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali — Tottenham Hotspur are now shifting attention to strengthening their attack, and have made a somewhat unexpected move for one target.
Kroupi had been the club’s main target up front, with Bournemouth reportedly expecting an £85 million approach. But the Cherries have stood firm on their refusal to sell the young Frenchman, pushing Spurs to look elsewhere.
That’s led them back to a familiar face, with TuttoSport reporting that Tottenham have submitted an offer to re-sign Randal Kolo Muani.
The striker’s time at PSG looks to be over for good, and he’s being actively marketed around Europe, with Juventus among those keen. Spurs have now thrown their hat in the ring too, having already had him on loan for the 2025/26 season.
That spell didn’t go particularly well — the 27-year-old, once tipped as a special talent, managed just five goals in 41 outings, and the loan ended without any option to buy being triggered. Even so, Tottenham are reportedly renewing their interest, with De Zerbi said to be open to bringing him back.
Eintracht Frankfurt and Aston Villa are also credited with interest, while Juventus remain the favourites — PSG are willing to sanction another loan with a €40 million (£34 million) obligation to buy, though Juve’s financial situation has slowed things down, keeping the door open for other suitors.
That said, going back in for Kolo Muani would be a strange and backward step for Tottenham. He may have once looked like a rising star, but at 27 he’s repeatedly shown he isn’t operating at the level Spurs need.
With the club working hard to rebuild themselves among the Premier League’s elite, re-signing a player who already failed to impress would undo much of the good work done in the transfer market this summer. If Kroupi remains out of reach, there are plenty of other forwards on the market who’d represent a genuine upgrade — and Tottenham would do far better chasing one of those than repeating a mistake they’ve already made once.
