Tottenham have confirmed a second done deal this morning, following the Robertson signing, with the club pushing to complete medicals before the World Cup begins.

Tottenham Hotspur suffered yet another torrid Premier League campaign, finishing 17th for the second time running after a chaotic season that claimed the managerial tenures of both Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor. Roberto De Zerbi eventually took charge and guided the club to safety, though only just.

With survival secured, attention has quickly turned to rebuilding, and De Zerbi faces the considerable challenge of transforming Spurs into genuine top-half contenders next term. The club appear to have wasted little time in the transfer market, with a notable signing reportedly close to completion.

Fabrizio Romano claims Tottenham have struck a verbal agreement to bring in seasoned left-back Andy Robertson, who has just departed Liverpool after nine years at the club. The Scotland captain made his 378th and final appearance for the Reds in their 1-1 draw with Brentford last Sunday, drawing the curtain on a hugely decorated spell at Anfield.

Robertson, 32, remained a key contributor for Liverpool right to the end, featuring 36 times across all competitions last season — 24 of those in the Premier League. Romano adds that De Zerbi himself was instrumental in pushing the move through, keen to bolster his ranks with a player of proven top-flight pedigree.

Although Juventus made a late attempt to lure Robertson to Serie A, Spurs are said to be confident of wrapping up the deal within days.

The veteran defender also has the World Cup in North America to look forward to this summer with Scotland. Across his career, he has accumulated 275 Premier League appearances and nine major honours with Liverpool, among them two league titles and the UEFA Champions League.
