Tottenham Hotspur appear to have gained fresh momentum in their chase for Eli Junior Kroupi, with reports suggesting the talented Bournemouth striker is warming to the idea of a switch to North London. This comes at an opportune moment for Roberto De Zerbi’s rebuilding project, especially with Paris Saint-Germain seemingly turning their focus elsewhere after hitting a snag in their own efforts to land the young forward.
PSG had reportedly earmarked Kroupi as a top option to bolster their attack, particularly with Gonçalo Ramos possibly on his way out. Now, though, the French club are said to be looking instead at Barcelona’s Ferran Torres.
At the heart of the matter is Kroupi’s hunger for consistent playing time. While a move to one of the continent’s elite clubs holds obvious appeal, the young forward is said to be wary of joining PSG if it means fighting for scraps of game time behind more established names in attack.
That hesitation could work in Tottenham’s favor. Boosting their attacking options has become a top priority for the club, and Kroupi is reportedly high on their wishlist. Spurs reportedly see his youth, adaptability and vast upside as a perfect match for what De Zerbi is trying to build over the long haul.
Encouragingly for Tottenham, Kroupi is said to be genuinely keen on a move to the club. The chance to be a key figure in an exciting, rebuilding side is reportedly a big draw for him, not least because Spurs could guarantee him a much clearer route to regular starts.
The club have already shown real intent this summer, bringing in the likes of Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali as part of a squad overhaul that has fueled optimism about the direction De Zerbi is taking things. Kroupi could well become another cornerstone of that vision, with Tottenham reportedly viewing the 20-year-old as a potential long-term leader of their front line, while his versatility across attacking positions would give De Zerbi extra tactical options.
Getting the deal done won’t be easy, however. Bournemouth have been firm all summer that Kroupi isn’t for sale, and they’re expected to hold that line. Even so, Tottenham are reportedly gearing up to test their resolve with a hefty bid in the near future, with suggestions the fee could climb as high as £85 million — a clear sign of how much the club rate him.
Adding to Tottenham’s optimism, PSG’s apparent pivot toward Ferran Torres could eliminate one of their main rivals for Kroupi’s signature, with the Barcelona man reportedly edging closer to a move to Paris. That shift could give Spurs room to push harder for their target.
There’s still plenty standing in the way, not least Bournemouth’s reluctance to engage in talks. But with the player himself said to be open to the move, Tottenham may now find themselves with their best chance yet of landing one of their top attacking targets this summer.
