Arsenal ‘Determined’ to Sign World-Class Striker in Huge Transfer Move
Arsenal are reportedly determined to strengthen their attack before the summer transfer window closes, with Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen emerging as a major target.
The Gunners had previously explored a blockbuster move for Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior after uncertainty surrounded his future at the Spanish club. Arsenal were even prepared to make an exceptional financial offer for the Brazilian.
However, Vinicius eventually committed his future to Real Madrid by signing a new six-year contract, forcing Arsenal to consider alternative targets.
A shortlist reportedly included Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and PSG winger Bradley Barcola. Yet Arsenal could now turn their attention to Osimhen instead.
According to Turkish outlet Sozcu, Arsenal are ‘determined’ to sign the Nigerian striker and view him as a more attainable elite option.
The interest is believed to have been developing since April, when Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta reportedly met Osimhen’s representative, George Gardi.
Osimhen’s name also emerged during discussions between Arsenal and Galatasaray regarding potential deals involving Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
Arsenal are reportedly hoping to complete a deal within the remaining 15 days of the transfer window, although Galatasaray’s asking price could prove a major obstacle.
The Turkish giants previously rejected a reported €130 million offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal for Osimhen. The 27-year-old also rejected a move to Saudi Arabia last summer despite the financial incentives.
Osimhen has been prolific since joining Galatasaray permanently in 2025, scoring 61 goals in 75 appearances and helping the club win the Turkish Super Lig in both seasons.
He has also started the 2026/27 campaign strongly, scoring twice in Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw against newly promoted Corum.
With Arsenal still searching for a top-class centre-forward, Osimhen could now become the surprise blockbuster signing of their summer window.
