Tottenham are reportedly weighing up a move for Victor Osimhen as Roberto De Zerbi looks to bolster his attacking options before the new season gets underway.
Sources in both Turkey and England suggest Spurs have the Nigerian frontman on their radar, with Barcelona also credited with interest. Talk of a possible move gathered pace after De Zerbi dropped hints about a big “bomba” signing being worked on behind the scenes, leaving fans speculating that Osimhen could be the player in question.
For now, though, no formal bid has been lodged and there’s no indication talks with Galatasaray have begun. Even so, the in-form striker remains high on Tottenham’s radar following a string of strong performances domestically and in Europe.
Any deal would come at a steep price. Galatasaray are said to be holding out for at least €130 million, with some reports suggesting his valuation could climb closer to €150 million — a fee that would place him among the priciest signings in Premier League history if it goes through.
Funding a transfer of that size would likely require Spurs to sell several players first, all while fending off interest from elsewhere in Europe.
Manchester United reportedly still see Osimhen as their preferred option up front as they continue hunting for a proven goalscorer. Chelsea are said to have maintained their interest throughout the window as well, while Atlético Madrid are also keeping tabs on the striker as Diego Simeone looks to strengthen his forward line.
Galatasaray believe they can hold on to him
Despite all the transfer chatter, Osimhen looks settled at Galatasaray following another impressive season in Turkey.
Since his permanent €75 million move, the 27-year-old has become the club’s standout performer. Galatasaray are reportedly set to make him captain and give him the No. 9 shirt, a clear sign they see him as central to their plans going forward.
He’s backed that trust up on the pitch. Osimhen was instrumental in the club’s league title win, ended the campaign as their top scorer in the Süper Lig, and led the line throughout their Champions League run.
Off the field, he seems equally settled in Istanbul. He’s among the highest earners at the club and has repeatedly spoken about his happiness there, both in football terms and personally.
That said, a switch to the Premier League remains high on his list of career goals. People close to him suggest he still harbours ambitions of testing himself in what’s widely seen as the toughest league in the world.
His camp is said to be monitoring interest from top Premier League clubs, holding out for a move that ticks both his ambitions and Galatasaray’s financial demands.
