Tottenham Close In On Savinho as Agreement Takes Shape With Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur appear to be nearing a breakthrough in their pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho, with reports suggesting the two clubs are edging closer to finalising a deal.

According to reports from Brazil, the winger has reached a verbal agreement to join Tottenham and is now waiting on the two clubs to settle the finer details, with a package in the region of £85 million said to be under discussion.

Other outlets have offered a different picture on the numbers involved, with some reports indicating the two clubs had struck a breakthrough built around a base fee of £65 million plus performance-related add-ons, bringing an end to weeks of intensive negotiations.

Whichever figure proves accurate, the direction of travel is consistent: Savinho wants out of Manchester City. He has reportedly made clear to the club’s new manager that he has no intention of staying at the Etihad, despite featuring in pre-season fixtures, and has held conversations with Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi about his prospective role at the club.

The move would add further attacking firepower to a Tottenham squad already reshaped extensively this summer, with Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo also strongly linked as De Zerbi continues to overhaul his forward options ahead of the new campaign.

With talks reportedly progressing on both sides, an official confirmation could follow in the coming days, though the final transfer fee remains the key detail still to be resolved.
