Liverpool Reach Agreement With Ibrahim Mbaye on Five-Year Contract
Liverpool have taken a major step towards signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye after reportedly reaching an agreement with the 18-year-old over personal terms.
According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Liverpool and Mbaye have agreed the financial terms of a five-year contract, with the highly-rated youngster making his preference clear.
Mbaye has reportedly decided that he does not want to pursue interest from Bayer Leverkusen, leaving Liverpool in a strong position to complete the move.
The development is significant because Liverpool have been closely monitoring Mbaye in recent weeks. The Senegal international has also attracted interest from several European clubs, but his reported decision to prioritise a move to Anfield represents a major boost for the Reds.
However, the transfer is not yet complete. Liverpool still need to reach an agreement with PSG over the transfer fee before Mbaye can officially become a Liverpool player.
Mbaye, who can operate on either wing, is regarded as one of PSG’s exciting young attacking talents. He has already gained valuable first-team experience despite his age.
Liverpool are reportedly also pursuing PSG winger Bradley Barcola, with the Reds keen to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
For now, Mbaye’s agreement on personal terms gives Liverpool an important advantage — but negotiations with PSG will be the decisive next step.
Liverpool fans may not have to wait much longer to see whether this deal becomes a reality.
