Coco Gauff Remains Without a Title in 2026: “The Rome Loss Still Hurts”
Coco Gauff is still searching for her first tournament title of the 2026 season, a situation that has left the American frustrated. However, she remains encouraged by the progress she has made and believes she is now a better player than she was at the beginning of the year.

Although the American has yet to lift a trophy this season, she feels her performances have improved significantly and says she has developed as a player over the past few months.
Gauff Admits She Wanted More From Clay Season
Speaking to reporters in Toronto, Gauff admitted that she was disappointed with her results on clay and would have preferred to have won a title.
“I would have liked my clay-court season to go a little better. I was disappointed with how things went, and obviously I would have liked to win a title. Rome is probably the one that hurts the most because I felt like I slipped back into some old habits during that match.”
Gauff Believes Her Best Tennis Is Still Ahead
Despite her frustrations, Gauff is choosing to focus on the improvements she has made. Her run at Wimbledon provided a major boost to her confidence and has given her optimism heading into the remainder of the season.
“I think Wimbledon was an important step in my career. I hope I can build on that momentum, especially on a surface where I feel more comfortable. I have to keep reminding myself that I deserve to be where I am and that I’m still far from reaching my best level. I want to do everything I can to get there.”
