Tottenham are reportedly not finished with their summer rebuild, with Ben Jacobs predicting that Spurs could complete two more major signings before the transfer window closes.
The North London club have already enjoyed a hugely ambitious transfer window, significantly strengthening Roberto De Zerbi’s squad. However, according to Jacobs, Tottenham’s recruitment drive is now entering its most exciting stage, with the focus firmly on improving the attack.
Speaking on the Last Word On Spurs podcast, Jacobs highlighted the scale of the rebuild, pointing to the additions in goal, defence and midfield, including statement signings such as Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
With the deeper areas of the squad strengthened, Tottenham are now turning their attention towards attacking reinforcements.
One of their main targets is Manchester City winger Savinho, whose name has been linked with Spurs throughout the summer. Jacobs acknowledged how long the pursuit has been ongoing but believes the situation could finally be reaching its conclusion.
Recent reports claim Tottenham have submitted an £85m bid for the Brazilian, while Savinho has reportedly missed Manchester City training amid uncertainty over his future.
Tottenham have also been strongly linked with Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo. De Zerbi is understood to be an admirer of the Dutch international, whose versatility allows him to operate both on the wing and through the middle.
Importantly, the pursuit of Savinho and Gakpo is reportedly not necessarily an either-or situation, with Spurs potentially exploring moves for both players.
Jacobs believes Tottenham could finish the window with two senior additions and a major overhaul of the squad. If Spurs manage to land both Savinho and Gakpo, it would represent a spectacular finale to an already huge summer of spending.
