Fabrizio Romano confirms £42.7m deal as Barcola edges closer to Liverpool transfer

Fabrizio Romano has reported on X that Champions League holders PSG have agreed a €50m (£42.7m) guaranteed fee for Spanish winger Ferran Torres.

The move could indirectly bring Liverpool closer to their pursuit of PSG forward Bradley Barcola. Torres’ expected arrival would give PSG another established option on the right side, potentially reducing the need to keep Barcola in their squad.

The situation could become even more interesting if PSG also complete a deal for Ajax winger Mika Godts, as widely anticipated. That would leave Luis Enrique with an abundance of attacking options and could increase the chances of PSG softening their stance on Barcola.

How much could Barcola cost Liverpool?

Romano previously revealed that even a €120m (£102.5m) offer may not be enough to convince PSG to sell Barcola. The French giants are reportedly holding out for around £145m.

However, a compromise could potentially be reached somewhere around £120m (€140m). If PSG become convinced that no club is willing to meet their full asking price, they may eventually have to consider a lower figure.

With Barcola contracted until 2028, PSG still have plenty of control over his future. But as each transfer window passes, his contract situation could gradually weaken their negotiating position.

For Liverpool, PSG’s growing attacking depth could therefore prove crucial in their attempts to bring the France international to Anfield.
