Tottenham are growing more confident about landing Manchester City’s Savinho, even as the champions continue to stall on his exit.

According to ESPN Brazil, Tottenham are pressing ahead in their efforts to land the Brazilian and believe a breakthrough with City could come within days. Spurs are expected to meet City’s roughly £70 million valuation as De Zerbi looks to bolster his attacking ranks further.
City’s hesitancy appears tied to their own squad planning, with reports suggesting they won’t let Savinho leave until a replacement is lined up. That said, there’s been a notable development on the player’s side — the 22-year-old has reportedly had several conversations with De Zerbi about his potential role at the club, and those talks seem to have only strengthened his desire to leave the Etihad, with Savinho said to have made clear he sees his future away from City.
Tottenham’s confidence, then, isn’t purely down to progress in negotiations with City — it’s also being fuelled by the player’s own enthusiasm for the move. His chats with De Zerbi have reportedly given him a clearer sense of how he’d be used in north London, and Spurs are increasingly convinced he wants the switch to happen. The Athletic has echoed the sense that Spurs are confident of getting the Savinho deal done, but suggests interest in the Liverpool forward remains at a much earlier stage — Tottenham have made their admiration known to his camp, but a formal approach to Liverpool has yet to materialise.
That leaves Savinho as the more advanced of Tottenham’s two attacking pursuits, with Spurs continuing to push for City’s approval. The next few days could prove telling in whether that pressure finally pays off.
