Liverpool receive major Bradley Barcola boost as PSG make key attacking move
Liverpool’s chances of signing Bradley Barcola could have received a major boost following a significant development from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Reds are reportedly still in regular discussions with PSG over a possible deal for the 23-year-old French winger, with personal terms said to have already been agreed.
However, the biggest obstacle remains the transfer fee. Liverpool are reportedly willing to go as high as £120 million, while PSG are believed to value Barcola closer to £145 million.
PSG complete Ferran Torres signing
PSG have now officially confirmed the arrival of Ferran Torres from Barcelona on a five-year contract. The Spain international reportedly cost around £42.7 million and becomes another major attacking addition for the French champions this summer.
His arrival could have important implications for Barcola’s future.
Luis Enrique now has an incredible number of attacking options to choose from, with players including Barcola, Torres, Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, Maghnes Akliouche and Ibrahim Mbaye competing for limited starting positions.
With PSG also reportedly pursuing another attacking player, competition for places could become even tougher.
Could Barcola now leave PSG?
Although Torres’ transfer is not directly linked to Barcola’s potential departure, his arrival could make it easier for PSG to consider selling one of their existing forwards.
Barcola played a key role for PSG in the Champions League last season, but securing regular starts could become much more difficult in 2026/27 given the club’s growing attacking depth.
Liverpool still need to submit an offer that satisfies PSG, but Torres’ arrival could be the latest major development to move the Reds closer to their long-term pursuit of Barcola.
For Liverpool, one major domino may have just fallen.
