Arsenal enjoyed a dream start to the new season as Mikel Arteta’s side swept aside Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield. Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard were all on target as the Gunners claimed the first trophy of the 2026/27 campaign.
Although the Community Shield may not be Arsenal’s biggest target, the victory provides a timely confidence boost ahead of the Premier League season. Arteta will now hope his squad can produce plenty more celebrations over the next year.
However, Piero Hincapie may want to brush up on his medal ceremony etiquette. During the presentation, the Arsenal defender appeared to accidentally ignore one of the presenters when she offered him a handshake.
Martin Zubimendi quickly noticed what happened, apologised on Hincapie’s behalf and made sure to shake the presenter’s hand.
