Liverpool star was reportedly on the verge of leaving after agreeing a move and even picking his shirt number, before FSG stepped in to block the transfer.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker reportedly came remarkably close to leaving Anfield this summer, with the Brazilian even having a shirt number picked out at Juventus before the proposed transfer was stopped.

Three months ago, the 33-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Turin giants and was said to be seriously tempted by the opportunity to join the Bianconeri.
Fortunately for Liverpool, the transfer never materialised. However, Juventus are reportedly considering returning for Alisson in 2027, when his current contract is set to expire and he could become available as a free agent.

Juventus eventually turned their attention to Emiliano Martinez, but that move also collapsed, leading them to agree a deal with Tottenham for Guglielmo Vicario, according to The Athletic.
Alisson had reportedly agreed terms with Juventus
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed just how close Alisson came to departing Liverpool this summer.
Speaking on the Caffè Di Marzio podcast, via DAVEOCKOP, Di Marzio claimed that Juventus had already reached an agreement with the goalkeeper and that Alisson had even selected his preferred shirt number.
He said Juventus’ initial priority was Alisson and that the Brazilian had already agreed personal terms and chosen his shirt number. However, Liverpool ultimately decided to keep their first-choice goalkeeper despite Juventus continuing to push for the transfer.
The Italian club eventually switched their focus to Martinez.
How long can Liverpool keep Alisson?
Earlier this summer, there was genuine concern that Alisson could become another Liverpool stalwart to leave Anfield, following the departures of players such as Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson.
Thankfully, Liverpool stood firm and prevented the goalkeeper from moving to Turin. However, the situation could become more complicated next summer, with Alisson’s current contract scheduled to run until June 2027.
The Brazilian remains one of the last key survivors from Jurgen Klopp’s peak Liverpool side and continues to play a vital role for the Reds.
Andoni Iraola has other goalkeeping options at his disposal, but none can currently replicate Alisson’s authority, composure and ability to organise the defence in front of him.
Liverpool will eventually need to plan for life after their long-serving No.1, and that moment may arrive sooner than many supporters would like.
For now, though, Reds fans can be hugely relieved that Juventus failed to prise Alisson away from Anfield this summer.
