Liverpool Set to Make Breakthrough in £130m Bradley Barcola Transfer Chase

Liverpool edging closer to Bradley Barcola agreement

Liverpool could be nearing a breakthrough in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with respected French journalist Fabrice Hawkins suggesting that the next formal offer from the Reds may be enough to secure a deal.

Barcola has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool and is reportedly keen on moving to Anfield. PSG have also accepted that the 23-year-old wants to leave, meaning the main obstacle is now the transfer fee between the two clubs.

PSG initially valued Barcola at around €170 million, but that figure has reportedly dropped. Hawkins believes Liverpool’s next written proposal could finally lead to an agreement, with the eventual fee expected to fall somewhere between €130m and €150m. However, he stressed that the deal is unlikely to cost less than €120m.

Liverpool have already held discussions with PSG and made several verbal approaches, but a formal written bid has yet to arrive. According to Hawkins, the next official offer could be the one that pushes negotiations over the line.

The situation has dragged on for several weeks, with PSG seemingly unwilling to give in easily over their valuation. However, Barcola’s uncertain position in the squad appears to be encouraging the French champions to find a resolution before the transfer window closes.

If Liverpool do complete the transfer for more than £110m, it would represent another huge investment in their attack. The club would consequently expect Barcola to make an immediate impact at Anfield.

The French winger already has significant experience at the highest level, including two Champions League titles, while his performances at the recent World Cup have further enhanced his reputation.

Barcola has scored 39 goals in 152 appearances for PSG, giving him a respectable scoring record, although Liverpool would likely expect those numbers to improve considerably if they spend such a substantial fee on him.

Ultimately, Liverpool’s willingness to potentially pay more than £110m indicates how highly they rate Barcola. The Reds appear convinced that the French international has the quality to become a major difference-maker at Anfield.
