Tottenham Complete Huge Transfer as Spurs Land Savinho
After two consecutive 17th-place Premier League finishes, Tottenham Hotspur have made it clear that major change is needed. Spurs have responded with an aggressive summer transfer strategy, investing heavily to rebuild the squad and prevent another disappointing campaign.
Tottenham have already spent around £185 million strengthening their midfield, with Sandro Tonali arriving from Newcastle and Matheus Fernandes joining from West Ham. However, the club’s transfer activity is far from over.
The biggest development is Tottenham’s reported agreement to sign Manchester City winger Savinho for around £75 million, with a further £10 million potentially due in add-ons. The Brazilian’s arrival would represent a major statement of intent and could become one of the standout deals of Spurs’ summer rebuild.
Tottenham’s interest in Savinho dates back to last summer, when the club attempted to bring him in under Thomas Frank. The winger ultimately decided to remain at Manchester City and continue working under Pep Guardiola. Spurs have now returned with renewed determination, attracted by his pace, creativity and ability to operate in multiple attacking positions.
And Savinho may not be the only attacking addition. Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly pushing for another Manchester City forward, Omar Marmoush, as Tottenham look to completely transform their attacking options.
If the Savinho deal is completed, Tottenham’s total spending this summer could surpass £300 million, despite more than a week remaining before the transfer window closes. The huge investment underlines the club’s determination to recover from two successive 17th-place finishes.
Spurs have also generated significant funds through player sales, bringing in approximately £140 million from departures. Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Luka Vuskovic are among those who have left, helping Tottenham offset some of their massive spending.
Tottenham have also been linked with Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, although that move appears considerably more difficult. Liverpool would be reluctant to sell unless they secure suitable attacking replacements, while Gakpo would likely command a substantial fee.
With Savinho reportedly close, Marmoush and Gakpo also featuring on Tottenham’s radar, the final days of the transfer window could be extremely busy in north London.
