Liverpool Closing In on Barcola as Fabrizio Romano Confirms Transfer Is in ‘Final Stages’
Liverpool’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola appears to be nearing its conclusion, with Fabrizio Romano providing a major update on Thursday morning.
The 23-year-old has been Liverpool’s top attacking target this summer and has reportedly already agreed personal terms with the Reds. Recent reports have increasingly suggested that a deal is close, with David Ornstein putting the chances of a transfer at around 90%.
Romano has now revealed that negotiations between Liverpool and PSG have entered the “final stages”, with senior officials from both clubs directly involved. He added that a breakthrough is now considered imminent.
The latest development comes after reports that PSG have lowered their asking price to around £115 million, significantly below the £145 million figure previously discussed.
Barcola’s desire to move to Anfield has reportedly played a major role in Liverpool’s pursuit, while PSG’s decision to leave him out of their opening three matches of the season has further increased speculation surrounding his future.
If completed, Barcola would become one of Liverpool’s most expensive signings ever. Although primarily a left winger, his versatility could also allow him to operate on the right and potentially fill the attacking role left by Mohamed Salah.
With several reliable journalists now pointing towards a breakthrough, Liverpool fans could soon receive official confirmation of Barcola’s move to Anfield.
