Liverpool have reportedly made official club-to-club contact with Genk over a potential move for highly rated Belgian goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans.
The 18-year-old stands around 2 metres (6ft 7in) tall and is viewed as one of Belgium’s promising young goalkeepers. Liverpool are said to be impressed by his long-term potential, although Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also been linked with an interest.
The move is closely connected to Giorgi Mamardashvili, with Nottingham Forest reportedly exploring a possible deal for the Liverpool goalkeeper. If Mamardashvili leaves, Liverpool could accelerate their pursuit of Brughmans.
Liverpool are currently considering two possibilities: signing Brughmans immediately if Mamardashvili departs, or agreeing a deal for him to remain at Genk before joining Liverpool in 2027.
For now, no final agreement has been reached, but talks between Liverpool and Genk are reportedly underway.
In short: Liverpool are seriously exploring Brughmans as a potential long-term addition to their goalkeeping department, with Mamardashvili’s situation likely to determine how quickly they move.
