Liverpool could reportedly revisit a move for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara in 2027, after the Senegal international’s proposed transfer to Chelsea dramatically collapsed on deadline day.
Camara had been expected to join Chelsea in a deal worth around £47 million, with the midfielder reportedly completing his medical. However, Monaco pulled the plug on the transfer at the final stage.
The situation has now opened the door for Liverpool to potentially make another attempt next summer. Reports indicate that the Reds had previously shown interest in the 22-year-old and could view him as a potential long-term replacement for Alexis Mac Allister.
Camara is highly regarded for his defensive work, energy and ability to contribute in possession. His profile could appeal to Liverpool as they look to strengthen their midfield options under Andoni Iraola.
The timing is particularly interesting because Liverpool were linked with Camara during the summer but ultimately did not complete a deal. Following Chelsea’s failed move, the Reds could now have a clearer opportunity to pursue him in a future window.
For now, Camara remains a Monaco player, but Liverpool’s reported interest could become one to watch closely ahead of the 2027 transfer window.
Liverpool fans may have to wait, but Lamine Camara could be back on the Reds’ transfer radar next summer. 🔴
