Chelsea and Tottenham Enter Race for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s Teenage Brother
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly among the leading Premier League clubs tracking Dinamo Tbilisi teenage sensation Tornike Kvaratskhelia, the 16-year-old younger brother of Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Despite his young age, Tornike has already begun making an impression at senior level with Dinamo Tbilisi. His rapid progress has caught the attention of several major European clubs, with his development drawing inevitable comparisons to his famous older brother.
Like Khvicha, Tornike operates primarily as a winger and developed through Dinamo Tbilisi’s academy. Khvicha also made his senior breakthrough at the Georgian club before moving into Russian football and eventually establishing himself as one of Europe’s top attackers.
Tornike appears to be following a similar trajectory. Over the past six months, the teenager has increasingly featured around Dinamo’s first team and is now regarded as one of the club’s most exciting young prospects.
Bayern Munich Also Showing Strong Interest
Chelsea and Tottenham, however, face serious competition for the youngster’s signature.
Bayern Munich are understood to be among the clubs most interested in Tornike and have reportedly emerged as early favourites in the race. The teenager even spent time training with the German giants earlier this summer, with Bayern continuing to monitor his situation closely.
Premier League clubs are also keeping a close eye on his progress. Arsenal have already reached an agreement for 17-year-old Georgia international Andria Bartishvili, while Newcastle United recently signed Vakhtang Salia from Dinamo Tbilisi, who had previously been a teammate of Tornike.
Despite the growing interest, an immediate move to England is not possible.
FIFA regulations surrounding the international transfer of minors mean Tornike would have to wait until he turns 18 before he can make a move to an English club. That means any potential transfer to Chelsea or Tottenham would likely have to wait until 2028.
For now, the race is expected to continue developing behind the scenes, with several European giants positioning themselves for the opportunity to sign the younger Kvaratskhelia.
