Tottenham have no intention of reviewing Roberto De Zerbi’s position despite the team’s rocky start, according to a TEAMtalk report — a claim that’s caught fans by surprise given the club’s current standing.
De Zerbi took over in the spring and kept Spurs up, earning 11 points from the last seven games of the season. The club backed him heavily over the summer, spending upwards of £300 million on signings including Sandro Tonali, Savio and Mateus Fernandes. That investment hasn’t translated into results — Tottenham have just two points from five league games and sit at the bottom of the table, having gone without a Premier League goal until the 86th minute of a 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa.
Even with a three-week international break offering a natural window for a managerial change, the report says that’s not on the table. Tottenham’s hierarchy are said to be fully behind De Zerbi, believing no one better suited is available to turn things around, and are reportedly directing more frustration at the players’ performances than at the manager himself.
The thinking behind the stance: with 10 new arrivals still bedding in, De Zerbi needs time to build cohesion, and the club wants to avoid more managerial turmoil. That said, the patience has limits — a continued lack of results over the next five matches could change the picture entirely by the November break.
