Spurs Slap £75m Record Price on Porro as Barcelona and Real Madrid Eye 2027 Swoop

Pedro Porro is reportedly at the centre of a looming transfer tussle, with Tottenham Hotspur said to have set a £75 million price tag as Barcelona and Real Madrid weigh up moves for him. TEAMtalk reports that intermediaries have held talks involving both Spanish giants about bringing the right-back back to La Liga, while Spurs are holding firm and would demand a record fee for a player in his position. Any battle would likely play out in the 2027 summer window.

That £75 million (roughly €88.6 million) figure would comfortably top the £57 million Paris Saint-Germain paid Inter Milan for Achraf Hakimi in 2021, the current benchmark for a right-back. Tottenham have little incentive to sell cheaply, particularly as Porro reportedly signed a new five-year deal in the summer that ties him to the club until 2031. That contract hands Spurs plenty of leverage, though the Spanish interest is the kind of thing that becomes harder to ignore as the window nears.

Barcelona are said to see Porro as a possible answer at right-back, admiring his attacking threat, crossing and Premier League experience. His rapport with Lamine Yamal in the Spain setup could also appeal to Hansi Flick. The Catalans may need to move players out before committing to such a big outlay, however.

Real Madrid are also watching, even with Trent Alexander-Arnold at the club and Denzel Dumfries added to the squad. Reports suggest they still want to strengthen the position, and Porro’s name has surfaced as a target for both clubs.

The 26-year-old has become a key figure since arriving from Sporting CP in 2023, offering width and a constant attacking outlet down the right. Spanish reports claim a return home could tempt him, with Barcelona seen as the likeliest destination. Tottenham’s rocky start to the Premier League season may also colour conversations about the club’s ambitions under Roberto De Zerbi.

For now, nothing is agreed between Porro and either club, and no deal has been completed. Any exit would hinge on negotiations, the player’s own wishes and whether a suitor is willing to meet Spurs’ valuation.

Losing Porro would be a real blow on the pitch, and replacing his output could prove costly. Still, £75 million would free up serious funds to reinvest elsewhere in the squad. The big question is whether Tottenham would cash in if Barcelona or Real Madrid tabled a formal bid. Until then, Spurs look intent on keeping their man, and the asking price sends a firm message to potential buyers. What is currently speculation could quickly become one of the biggest stories of the window if either Spanish side makes its interest official.
