According to Football London journalist Alasdair Gold, Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott still feels a deep connection to his boyhood club and is keen on getting another chance to prove himself at Tottenham.
Parrott open to Spurs comeback
Following a dramatic 2-2 draw with Brighton last weekend, Roberto De Zerbi’s side remain 18th in the table with only five games left to play. Despite the real danger of relegation—and the possibility of dropping into the second tier for the first time since 1977—Parrott is reportedly still open to a return to North London.
The 24-year-old left Spurs for AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2024 after finding consistent first-team opportunities hard to come by. Even so, his attachment to the club has remained strong during his time abroad.
With Tottenham potentially heading for a major rebuild if relegation happens, bringing back a homegrown player who understands the club could appeal to those in charge. However, Leeds United are also keeping a close eye on his situation.
Flying form since leaving Spurs
Parrott has thrived since his move to the Eredivisie, significantly boosting both his performances and reputation. He has scored 50 goals in 92 games for AZ Alkmaar, establishing himself as one of Europe’s most in-form young strikers.
This season alone, he has produced 30 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions, bringing his overall career tally to 114 goals in 279 matches.
His club form has also translated to the international stage, where he recently scored a hat-trick against Hungary to send the Republic of Ireland into the 2026 World Cup play-offs.
Tottenham are believed to hold a 20% sell-on clause from his transfer, which could help lower his current £22 million valuation. Whether it’s leading the line in the Premier League or pushing for promotion in the Championship, Parrott’s return could be a timely boost for Spurs.
