Xavi Simons has spoken out after being confirmed to have torn his ACL, an injury that will keep the Tottenham midfielder out of action for around eight months.
The 22-year-old Dutch international faces missing the 2026 World Cup and will be unable to help his Spurs side as they fight to stave off relegation in the closing weeks of the season.
Fans had grown anxious after Simons deleted all content from his Instagram page. Upon confirmation of the diagnosis, he posted an emotional message expressing his devastation, describing the end of his season as sudden and difficult to process.
He spoke of his desire to give everything for his club, and lamented losing not only the rest of the campaign but also the opportunity to represent the Netherlands at the World Cup. Despite the blow, he pledged to continue supporting his teammates and vowed to return with faith and determination. He also asked for patience as he begins his recovery.
