Liverpool Pushing Hard to Sign Yan Diomande as New Era Takes Shape at Anfield
Liverpool are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande as they prepare for a major transition following the departure of Arne Slot. Sporting director Richard Hughes is said to be leading efforts to secure the highly-rated winger before the 2026 World Cup begins on June 11.
The Reds are also closing in on a new manager, with Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola emerging as the leading candidate. Reports suggest Iraola has prioritised Liverpool over other interested clubs and is expected to take charge at Anfield.

Despite the hefty valuation, Liverpool’s owners are said to be prepared to meet the asking price if necessary. A transfer of that size would make Diomande the most expensive Ivorian footballer ever, surpassing Nicolas Pépé’s move to Arsenal in 2019.
