Tottenham have moved quickly in the transfer market this summer, already confirming free signings Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi. The club are also working on a deal for Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke, who is said to want a reunion with former manager Roberto De Zerbi at White Hart Lane.
Strengthening a backline that lacked consistency last season has been a major focus for Spurs. Bringing in seasoned defenders like Robertson and Senesi looks like shrewd business, and landing Van Hecke would add further depth ahead of next season.
That defensive overhaul, though, has left question marks over some current squad members — Radu Dragusin among them. Game time has been hard to come by since his return from an ACL injury in December 2025, and recent reports claim the Romanian has told agent Florian Manea to look into his options this summer amid frustration over his limited role.
Agent says he’s waiting on Tottenham
Manea says he’s yet to have a conversation with Tottenham about where Dragusin stands, though he downplayed any urgency given the player still has four years left on his deal.
He told Digisport that with four years still on the contract, Dragusin might simply need to fight for a starting role. Manea added that there’s no concrete offer on the table yet, that he’s waiting to hear from Tottenham, and that if the club decides Radu should move on that’s fine too — though for now there’s no pressure either way. He noted Tottenham’s signing of a new centre-back and said the club will communicate whatever decision they reach.
Fiorentina circling again
Despite his lack of minutes, Dragusin remains on the radar of several European clubs. Roma tried to land him in January but would only offer a loan with an option to buy, which Tottenham turned down. Fiorentina were also keen at the time but were blocked due to Spurs’ injury crisis at the back.
Fiorentina have now reignited their interest, with sporting director Fabio Paratici — who oversaw Dragusin’s move to Tottenham — reportedly keen to bring him to Florence.
With Senesi in and Van Hecke being chased, Dragusin could drop further down the pecking order, meaning Tottenham might be willing to cash in if a suitable bid comes forward.
