Tottenham Hotspur have renewed their interest in Monaco forward Maghnes Akliouche as Roberto De Zerbi steps up his quest to add more creative firepower to his squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, according to Football Insider.
Defensive Business Done β Attack Next
Spurs have already moved decisively to fix their backline, bringing in Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke, while Antonin Kinsky has nailed down the goalkeeper spot after signing a new contract. Attention has now firmly shifted to strengthening in attack.
Tottenham are also preparing a fresh blockbuster bid for Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali, who De Zerbi views as a transformative signing for his midfield. Spurs are simultaneously battling Manchester United for West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, with the Red Devils reportedly plotting to hijack that deal.
Akliouche Back On The Radar
Amid that busy backdrop, Tottenham have reignited their interest in Akliouche β a player they first identified over a year ago when attempts to sign Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze both collapsed. They eventually brought in Xavi Simons instead, but with Simons now expected to remain sidelined until 2027 and Dejan Kulusevski’s future uncertain, De Zerbi needs another creative option urgently.
The 24-year-old fits the bill perfectly. Operating primarily on the right wing or as an attacking midfielder, Akliouche registered seven goals and 10 assists last season and has contributed an impressive 23 goals and 28 assists in 139 Monaco appearances since breaking through in 2023.
PSG Leading The Race
The competition for Akliouche is fierce. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Paris Saint-Germain are currently ahead of two unnamed Premier League clubs in the race, while Foot Mercato claims the player has already agreed personal terms with the French champions β putting PSG firmly in the driving seat.
Monaco are expected to demand around Β£52 million for the French international, with that figure potentially rising to Β£61 million if a bidding war develops. Akliouche is contracted until 2028.
Rashford Link Emerges
In a separate development, Marcus Rashford has reportedly made a decision on his next club, with Tottenham among the sides linked with the Manchester United and England forward this summer.
