Ahead of the tie, ITV Sport put a question to Tottenham full-back Djed Spence, who’s become a regular fixture in Thomas Tuchel’s England setup thanks to some strong recent displays. Asked whether he’d ever seen a striker finish as ruthlessly as Haaland, Spence didn’t need to think twice: “Yeah… Harry Kane.”

Even with all the records tumbling in both England and Germany, some still feel Kane doesn’t get the credit he deserves. His form at Bayern has only reinforced what Tottenham fans have long argued — that he was never fully appreciated during his time in North London.
