Liverpool duo Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo reportedly expected to leave the club this summer.
Liverpool could be facing two major departures before the transfer window shuts, with Inter Milan pushing for Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo reportedly moving closer to a switch to Tottenham Hotspur.

Both transfers could play a key role in Andoni Iraola’s plans to reshape the Liverpool squad.
Jones is entering the final year of his contract, while Tottenham’s interest in Gakpo has intensified as Liverpool continue their efforts to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.

The Reds must now carefully balance raising significant funds through player sales while ensuring they do not weaken the squad ahead of the new season.
Liverpool duo attracting serious interest
Inter Milan have reportedly made Jones one of their main targets and believe they could secure the midfielder for around €35 million. Liverpool are understood to value him closer to €40m, while Jones himself is believed to be open to a move to Serie A.

His recent absences have fuelled transfer speculation, although Liverpool sources maintain that his omission has been linked to a hip issue and fitness management rather than preparations for a transfer.
Gakpo’s situation is also developing quickly. Reports claim the Netherlands international has reached an agreement in principle with Tottenham, although Liverpool are demanding a substantial fee before considering his departure.
The Reds are reportedly looking for more than £60m, with their valuation believed to be around £70m.
Liverpool must strengthen before sanctioning exits
Allowing both players to leave could make financial sense, but Liverpool would need suitable replacements in place.
Jones could depart for free next summer if his contract remains unresolved, making a fee of around €35m potentially attractive. Inter have been monitoring him for some time and could offer the midfielder a more prominent role in central midfield.
Gakpo’s situation is different, given that he is contracted until 2030. Liverpool therefore have little reason to sell unless Tottenham meet their valuation.
His potential departure also appears connected to Liverpool’s plans to strengthen their attacking options. Barcola remains a key target, with the Reds reportedly agreeing personal terms with the PSG winger while negotiations over the transfer fee continue.
Liverpool are also keeping an eye on Ibrahim Mbaye, suggesting Iraola could oversee a major overhaul of his wide attacking options.
As a result, the possible departures of Jones and Gakpo appear to be part of a broader squad rebuild rather than straightforward cost-cutting.
