Inside Conor Bradley’s injury blow: details emerge on his surgery plans and projected return date

Liverpool have been dealt a significant defensive setback for the remainder of the 2025/26 season after confirming that right-back Conor Bradley will require surgery, ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.

According to Football Paparazzi, the 22-year-old has sustained serious ligament and bone damage, with the injury severe enough to demand surgery scheduled for mid-January 2026. Liverpool’s medical team have put a structured recovery programme in place, with his rehabilitation expected to last between four and six months.

The injury means Bradley will miss all of Liverpool’s remaining domestic fixtures as well as their European matches this season. His recovery is set to run from February through May 2026, with a possible return to full training targeted for June or July if everything goes smoothly. However, the club’s primary focus is ensuring he is fully fit for the start of the 2026/27 pre-season in August rather than rushing him back.

Highly regarded as one of the standout talents to emerge from Liverpool’s academy in recent years, Bradley has seen his progress repeatedly stalled by fitness issues. This latest setback adds to a series of injury problems, including past back troubles and minor muscle issues that have limited his first-team involvement.

For head coach Arne Slot, Bradley’s absence places additional pressure on Liverpool’s defensive resources, forcing greater demands on the remaining squad as the club continues to fight on multiple fronts. The hope within the club is that a successful operation followed by a full pre-season will allow Bradley to finally overcome his injury struggles and rebuild momentum in his career.
