Liverpool have reportedly been cleared to bring Kostas Tsimikas back to Anfield, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Ben Jacobs revealed yesterday that the Reds were preparing to contact Roma about terminating the left-back’s loan early, and it now appears Liverpool are moving closer to making that happen.
With Andrew Robertson potentially heading to Tottenham, Liverpool are keen to bolster their options at left-back. Tsimikas previously served as Robertson’s deputy at Anfield, making his return a logical move.
This season, Robertson has seen his role reduced following the arrival of Milos Kerkez, and a switch to Spurs could offer him the regular game time he wants.
Romano confirmed the situation, stating that Roma have given their approval for Tsimikas to return to Liverpool if Robertson completes a move to Tottenham. Although there is no recall clause in the loan deal, club-to-club discussions are ongoing, with Liverpool ready to welcome the Greek international back.
Tsimikas has featured 16 times for Roma this season, but Liverpool’s interest has seemingly changed his outlook. The 29-year-old spent five years with the Reds before his loan move and appears open to returning to provide valuable squad depth.
While Liverpool supporters may be saddened by the possible departure of club stalwart Robertson, his desire for consistent playing time is understandable—especially with the 2026 World Cup approaching and Scotland having qualified for the tournament for the first time in 28 years.
