Tottenham Hotspur are continuing their efforts to strengthen their attack this summer. With the club reportedly closing in on Manchester City pair Omar Marmoush and Savinho, manager Roberto De Zerbi is still looking to add more quality and depth to his attacking options.
According to Football Fancast, Spurs have now identified Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson as a potential target. The 24-year-old is reportedly not part of Xabi Alonso’s plans at Stamford Bridge, while Aston Villa are also monitoring his situation amid uncertainty surrounding Ollie Watkins.
Chelsea are believed to value Jackson at around £65 million. However, with the striker seemingly outside the first-team picture and the transfer window nearing its deadline, Tottenham could potentially negotiate a lower fee.
Jackson spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, where he was involved in 15 goals across all competitions. He also impressed during Chelsea’s pre-season campaign, making interest from another Premier League club understandable.
Jackson deal could depend on Tottenham exits
Tottenham’s squad could become crowded once the expected arrivals of Marmoush and Savinho are officially completed. As a result, Spurs may have to offload some players before making a serious move for Jackson.
Richarlison has been linked with a departure from the club in recent weeks, although no suitable destination has emerged for the Brazilian so far. His future could therefore play an important role in determining whether Tottenham make a late move for another attacking player.
If Spurs manage to sign Jackson, he could provide De Zerbi with plenty of tactical options. The striker combines physical strength with good movement inside the box, offers an aerial threat and is capable of finishing from close range. His pressing ability could also suit De Zerbi’s attacking approach.
Jackson can also drop deeper to link play, use his hold-up ability to bring teammates into attacks and operate from the left flank when required. That versatility could make him a valuable addition to Tottenham’s squad.
With only a few days remaining in the summer transfer window, Jackson’s next move could become one of the stories to watch closely.
